The soft sands of the Algarve – Absolutely no regrets in moving abroad

You are probably aware that I moved to the Algarve from the UK a few years ago and I can honestly say that I absolutely love my new life and I really do have no regrets whatsoever. Many people say that their goal is to move abroad but I would advise that you give it some thought and when you have made the decision regarding where you would like to move to you should simply go for it. Trust your judgement and go with your dreams.

The longer you put it off it is far more likely that you won’t go and something else will crop up that will take you in another direction. You don’t want to be looking back in years to come and find that you are full of regrets because you didn’t follow your dreams. You will find that there is never a perfect time to go, if you say to yourself that you will make the move when this happens, or when that happens, it will just turn into even more excuses.

The lifestyle that my family now enjoys in the Algarve is a world away from what life used to be like in the UK. Don’t get me wrong, we had some great times and have some lovely memories but it really doesn’t compare with what is going on now. Being able to walk down to the beach when ever we feel like it and making the most of the glorious weather really does make such a difference. It is also a far different experience than just being on holiday, there is not that feeling that everything has to be fitted in around a two week holiday, it is just so much more relaxed and I am not exaggerating when I say that you can just feel the stress leaving your body after only a few days of the Algarve experience.

My son has really settled into school well and the whole Algarve lifestyle is centred around the family which I really can relate to. The schools have a summer break of 3 months and I think that fact alone goes to show where the Portuguese put their priorities.

If you are thinking of making the move and you have children, I am confident that you will be over the moon with the lifestyle that the Algarve in particular, has to offer, and I am sure you to, will have no regrets about making the move to the sun.
