Marinated Mushrooms (Cogumelos Marinadoes)

If you are looking for a cheap Portuguese  meal which will absolutely blow you away then look no further than  cogumelos marinadoes or marinated mushrooms. This is yet another dish that I hadn’t even heard of until I moved to Portugal and as I now put this together myself on a regular basis, it often amazes me how cheap the whole dish is and it compares with many other dishes where the ingredients are really expensive.

Sardines In Onion And Tomato Marinade (Sardinhas De Escabeche)

When I first moved to Portugal one of the first meals that I tried was Sardines in onion and tomato marinade (sardinhas de escabeche) and to say that it was absolutely beautiful would have to be something of an understatement.

I have got to admit though, my experience of eating sardines when I lived in the UK meant that I wasn’t really looking forward to the sardinhas de escabeche, as my only memories of anything which included sardines came out of a tin but these sardines in onion and tomato marinade tasted like nothing I had ever tasted before.

Some Portuguese Recipes That You Should Try

I love to eat and I enjoy tasting different recipes from the places I visit. During my first few weeks here in Portugal, I must admit that I really fell in love with their food – with their traditional Portuguese recipes.

I would like to share to you some of my favourite Portuguese foods.
