A Road Trip Back To England
At the end of April I had a few family emergencies and ended up having to go back to England by road. Just at the time when everyone else was enjoying (or avoiding) watching Kate Middleton become Princess of Cambridge I was packing up last minute so that I could leave Portugal the following day.
I had a health scare of my own (I had a blood clot and other issues) and these meant that I couldn’t fly by plane until they were solved. At the same time I needed new specialist glasses that are not available in Portugal. Along with this my Grandad had just suffered a heart attack and was in a bad way back home.

The Vibe Of The English Living Abroad
I was at the cinema last week with my husband and we had a great time watching The Hangover Part 2. We head out to the cinema at Guia (Shopping Algarve) maybe once or twice a month. We will follow it up with a lovely meal while our son is at school.
We are lucky enough to work from home which means if we want to take the afternoon off we can. And in three years living abroad we have never used a babysitter and have our date days while he is at school.

Aqua Portimao: Western Algarves Largest Shopping Centre
After some thought we as a family decided to take a trip to the brand new shopping centre in Portimao. Aqua Portimao is billed as the largest shopping centre in the western Algarve.
So with some excitement we decided to set of on the first Sunday after the shopping centre had opened to have a good look around and see exactly what the shopping centre had to offer.
The centre is quite easy to find just of the N125 and head straight into Portimao then stay on your right hand side which brings you up to a roundabout. Then the centre is well sign posted from there.

Top 10 Things I Miss Most About England
When we move somewhere new we would not be human if we did not miss things that we don’t have instant access to anymore. I love my life in the Algarve and would not change it for the world but it is just like when we quit an addiction we will still want this substance even ten years down the line.
The last time I was in England was in August 2008 so in my defence it has been rather a few months since my last visit. My Mum and Dad are in the UK and the Algarve regularly so I am never short of my favourite delights whether it is branded soy sauce or traditional British cheese.
