Algarve Tolls: My First Outing With My New Transponder
So the majority of us have protested, some of us have been a fan of the tolls and a few thousand more have had no opinion at all.
As you know from my previous posts I have been a fan of the tolls as long as Portugal don’t make it too hard to understand or they stop all foreign cars coming on the toll roads which neither of this applies.

Portuguese Driving System – Will It Ever Improve?
I personally find driving in Portugal as intimidating because of some careless drivers.
Even if the Portuguese have the reputation of being some of the worst drivers in Europe, you cannot just all blame it to the driving public but to the condition of the roads. They are not comparable to other European roads, except for some of the new super highways. In fact, many are narrow, winding, pot-holed, and unsafe at any speed. Also, keep in mind that there may be cars behind you going 50 or even 100 km/h faster than you are, so you have to be very careful about cars suddenly coming up behind you. Take note that if a car is coming behind you with its left-turn signal blinking, that means that the driver intends to overtake. But if the car behind you flashes its head lights, it means that it really wants to pass you by.
